Hair and permanent makeup website launch

Dao Vanity Beauty Studios
Beauty, hair, and makeup studio
Years in business:  1-3

I had such a wonderful time redesigning the website for Dao Vanity Beauty Studios based in Oakville Ontario. They opened their studio less than a year ago and were looking for a complete redesign of their website. They offer many services including hair, permanent makeup, bridal, and lash extensions. On top of that, they’re also building a beauty academy.

Current website challenges and needs

  • Easier to use website: They needed a website that they could easily manage and scale as their business grew to a new brick-and-mortar location.

  • Lack in capabilities: they needed capabilities like e-commere, a booking system and new pages for their training academy.

  • Dated Website: Their current site style was dated and wasn’t a proper representation of the level of service and talent they had to offer. They also wanted to avoid the typical beauty studio “looks” with over-posed and polished models.

  • Reposition their brand to compete with Toronto salon prices.

The Brand

Since they already had a logo and wanted to maintain a black-and-white theme, I worked with them on designing their academy logo for their permanent makeup and lash training.

I helped them shift their art direction to more of a high-fashion look and introduced a few softer colors against their black and white brand colors.

Working with Annie on my website was a breeze. She understood exactly what I wanted for my business during our workshop together. She is always professional, very communicative, and patient with understanding my needs and capturing my vision. I also appreciated her honesty when something wasn’t a good idea. Her work is worth every penny of investment. I would work with her again.”
